Huge thank you to our wonderful gardener Caroline for organising our family activities during our Open House Festival, in celebration of our meadow regeneration project funded with our grant from Groundwork’s Our Space Award
We are taking part in London’s Open House Festival on Saturday 16th September. Explore the garden, walk in the woodland, and join in our family activities.
Or try some volunteer gardening.
Everyone is welcome to visit at any time, 10am – 4pm.
Tea and cake will be available.
Little Explorers enjoyed an activities session, learning about plants and colourful butterflies and designing signage for our new butterfly garden, being created with funding from Groundwork’s Our Space Award
Maria led an energetic group of volunteers from Howden’s Insurance who repositioned the collapsed sleepers along the path and cleared brambles in the orchard. Thank you to the BIG Alliance for arranging another wonderful group of volunteers.
We are very pleased to receive a grant from Local Giving’s Magic Little Grants to create a wildlife pond. The pond will promote sustainability and encourage species diversity, using harvested water, with plants that clean and filter it. Join our volunteers on Tuesdays, to help create the pond.
Local Giving is the UK’s leading membership and support network for local charities and community groups. Please support Olden Garden by donating on our Local Giving page to help fund our meadow regeneration and biodiversity project. Local Giving collects Gift Aid on your donation and transfers it to us.
Thank you to Tree Matters for donating the bark. It was scooped up by volunteers and taken into Olden Garden and will be spread on our paths and steps.
‘Little Explorers’ – the mini garden club for children – continues to grow in Olden Garden – in all senses! It welcomes local families with children, especially those who don’t have access to their own garden.
It is working on soil improvement in the veg beds and thinking about fox deterrents, as their digging is a problem for veg growing.
